About the Wallington
The style of the gardens and parkland are derived from the scheme of the 18th century, when Sir Walter Blackett established the balance of woodland, open meadow and ponds, together with much of the sculpture and buildings. The mature trees give the garden a sense of history and harmony. The walled garden, created in 1760 as a vegetable garden, now shelters Wallington's most delicate plants, with a conservatory restored in 1988.
