About the Arboretum Zampach
Arboretum Zampach is part Charity „Domov pod hradem Žampach“ which is run by Pardubicky county council and is located as part of „Zampach“ castle complex with area over 4 hectars. The charity offers welfare services (council) to people with mental and physical disability. The Castle and its landscape is registerd under AusE National Trust of Czech Republic. The castle parks have been re-done to the era of Anna and Frantisek Lützow which lived in the catsle between years 1884-1933 and were the most significant owners of the castle in its history. Frantisek Lutzow was great diplomat, writer, patriot and nation promoter in England and United States of America. Since 2007 the Arboretum is in Union of Botanic Gardens of Czech Republic. Arboretum genus information is avaialble to all visitors with no restrictions, no charge and anyone can review it at any time. There is also full access to Arboretum for disabled visitors as well.
The mission of Arboretum Zampach is publishing; proffesional management of genus tree spieces and historical sight management; enviromental education and visitor tours. The specific mission of Arboretum Zampach is the use of nature environment for relaxation methods; work therapy and helping clinets, with mental and physical disability, of charity „Domov“ to make positive social connections with the public.
Arboretum Zampach consits of 130 genus types and 900 woody plant types. Additionn to this there are herb layer plants and small sub tropic green houses. Genus of oak, beech, spruce, pine, fir, ash, maple, birch,gingko and redwood have the most represantion within. Genus also consist of rare woody plant spieces, ancient woody plant and also ancient living fosiles. Most of woody plants comes from northern areas of the planet (such as North America, Canada, Korea and Japan) which is line with the Arboretum principle.
Arboretum complements the conservation area and continues with the historic flow from its establishment era and activities of its most significant historic castle owners. Arboretum is offering education platforms for schools and public. Also has the ability to offer scientific research conditions. Lower sections of the parks are offering varying degrees of wetness for meadow community. Within this community you can also find protected spieces of Leucojum vernum in two locations. Mowing techniques have been amended to protect those spieces and different bio types of meadow community in this location.
