About the Botanischer Garten Frankfurt am Main

The Botanical Garden of is a green jewel in the heart of Frankfurt. It is situated in the green belt between the Palmengarten and Grüneburg park. The garden covers about 7 hectares and offers a lot of variety and tranquility.

Formerly, the Botanical Garden belonged to the University of Frankfurt. Since 2012 it was transferred to the City of Frankfurt and now pertains to the adjacent Palmengarten.

Main Focus is on plant geography and vegetation of Central Europe, with emphasis on rare and endangered species, and the flora of temperate Eastern Asia and North America, and the mediterranean region.
